There’s a lot going on in this singular novel, and none of it pretty. Shannon has been taking the same running path for forever and has never mentioned any issues or strange people along her route. Beautiful Shannon appears to have led an ideal life; she had a handsome, successful husband, two adorable kids, a condo in Florida, and a schedule flexible enough for the ritual of her daily jog. Bailey Weggens is a crime reporter and the book is about her and how she got about helping the police solve the crime.
