The only sealed fuel tanks are on the SULEV (super ultra low emissions vehicles) cars with the m56 engine. The transmission shifts well but as soon as it enters the 5th gear, it enters limp (safe) mode and stays stuck on the 4th gear hence I can't travel. Diagnosing is better than just changing things out that might be the problem (aka the proverbial "parts cannon"). Figured it might be due to the 100+ degree weather and because the car has been sitting in the school lot all day.
Change trans fluid and filter.
I was driving back home, and noted that temperatures for engine and oil were a little higher than usual.
Has anyone else had this issue before? If the damage is done, then its do e, but you should absolutely change it.
